The mileage multiplier is a system that allows serial accumulators to quickly increase their account, several loyalty programs have it, and if taken advantage of at the right time it can be very convenient. British Airways launched "Avios Balance Boost" in June 2023.

How does Avios Balance Boost work?
By logging into your restricted area you will see all the transactions that can be multiplied, normally you would only see those from the last 30 days, but over the course of this promo you will see all those in 2024. Not only flight transactions with BA or oneWorld airlines, but also all other activities such as Uber trips, hotel reservations and more. You can select individual transactions, entire categories (e.g., "Credit Cards") or select everything.

You are then offered the choice of multiplier, up to x4, in my case in 2024 I have accumulated 173,196 avios and could become 692,784 at the modest sum of 11,657.02 euros. A large sum, but definitely a great way to maximize the investment since with the same points I could easily redeem 4 business class tickets to fly, with Qatar to Bali. The point, however, is to do the math right and figure out whether it is worthwhile or not.
Of course, if, for example, you have a "new" credit card in your pocket and have no idea how to reach the required minimum spending this could be a great strategy to spend, without spending, to get the bonus.
Conclusion
If you think you are going to need Avios in a close call, this is an interesting offer given the price of €0.0111 per point. Needless to say, you buy if you have a need, not to bank.
