An airport, almost ghostly, Built to take the place of the one currently serving Manila which has the minor flaw of being over 100km from the capital of the Philippines. A port of call built to handle the growth in traffic, both of locals, but especially of foreign tourists heading to this Asian nation.
In this article:
I dare not imagine when the move will take place, since from Manila to CRK today it took me over 150minutes and I had to wake up at 6 a.m. to arrive calmly to catch my flight that took off at 12:15 p.m.
Location
The lounge is located in the international flight area, past immigration and through duty free.
The sign pointing to the corridor to reach the lounge is clearly visible between a bar and a restaurant.
Access
Like all Plaza Premium is open to American Express holders, Prioirty Pass holders and premium passengers of many airlines, including Emirates.
In case you are entitled through status, or ticket, you will receive a special invitation at check-in.
The lounge
I will say it now, it is not the best premium plaza in the world, but it is far from being the worst.
The shortcomings are the lack of a view of the outside. Low ceilings, walls with very dark wallpaper make the room really dark, although the colors are soothing.
It is the exact opposite of the terminal, which instead has soaring ceilings and enromy windows that flood the entire gate area and beyond with light.
It is not large, but judging by departures, we are still not at the levels of traffic for which this airport was built, certainly not even at the levels of Siem Reap, not least because everyone really flies here: from EK to Qatar, from Singapore to Chinese carriers, from Taiwan to local Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, just to name a few.
The lounge has a small food area in the center. a lounging area with sofas, one with cubicles very popular in PP lounges.
Opposite the kitchen is the restaurant area , in short a solid proposition for a brand like Plaza Premium that knows how to operate a lounge.
In terms of facilities, there is a smoking room and a VIP room. That's all.
Food & Beverage
If the lounge is not large, the food area is really small. A counter that houses four chafing dishes. The kitchen, however, prepares express dishes, or so it should.
There is a refrigerator with drinks and little else
And finally the bar area with a giant coffee machine and a few bottles of wine.
Then there is a small dessert corner, with cookies and cupcakes
In conclusion
With Plaza Premium you (almost) always go for sure, then in this terminal there is no other option if you are a Priority Pass holder at this lounge, so you either eat this soup or wait on a bench.
