There are not a few, evidently, airports that offer treatment from real vip to its passengers; and not only to those who choose to travel on a private flight. Please note: these are not services offered by a lounge or included in a particular airline's business or first class ticket. It is, rather, a specially created treatment from some airport airports and offered to the wealthiest (and most demanding) passengers.
In this article:
L'London-Heathrow Airport, in this regard, in recent hours unveiled its private terminal, completely renovated after an 8-month renovation. It is called "The Windsor by Heathrow", is located near the Terminal 5 and is available to all passengers flying business or first class, regardless of carrier; the service, moreover, is usable for both departures and arrivals and connections.
It can be said that London-Heathrow airport has been the pathfinder regarding VIP treatment: the first such service, in fact, was launched in the early 1970s and, initially, was the preserve of senior diplomatic officials and royalty. Then, in 2009, with "The Windsor Suite," the service was opened to everyone.
At this point the questions that come to mind are basically two, actually three: What is the cost of this service? What is included in "The Windsor by Heathrow?" And, most importantly, how many passengers use it each year? Let's go in order. The cost, as can be expected, is certainly not low: we are in the range of the 4,000 pounds, 3812 to be precise. Included services include: private transfers from home (or hotel) to the airport, and from the gate to the plane; dedicated security checks away from the bedlam of the terminals; 8 private suites where you can rest before you leave or after you land; and starred cuisine curated by Chef Jason Atherton.
As if that were not enough, then, passengers using "The Windsor by Heathrow" service even have at their disposal a private art gallery: should they then wish to purchase one or more of the works, they simply frame the qr code located next to the canvases and proceed with the transaction. Last but not least, travelers also have a personal shopper available to accompany them to the various T5 shops upon request.
If you are thinking that very few people take advantage of this service, you have to think again: "The Windsor by Heathrow" is very popular. Let's look at some numbers. As it is explained on the airport's website, out of 83.9 million passengers passing through the UK's busiest airport, 50,000 of these take advantage of 'vip treatment'.
Where do passengers of "The Windsor by Heathrow" fly to? Mainly to and from the Middle East (Doha, Riyadh e Dubai) but also to the U.S., to Los Angeles e New York.
