The German carrier announced theOpening to Allegris bookings to three new destinations, all served from Munich and all in the United States: from March 30, i.e., coinciding with the start of Summer 2025, it will be possible to fly in Allegris to San Diego; from April 15 to New York-Newark. e from the beginning of August toward Charlotte, where Lufthansa will go to challenge on transatlantic routes with its more glamorous cabins American Airlines and British Airways (both part of Oneworld), which fly to and from Europe from the South Carolina city.
Of the nine A350s equipped with Allegris, six already have the First Class cabin installed, which houses four mega-suites at the front of the aircraft. Hence, considering the three new destinations, First will be bookable only to San Diego, while on Newark and Charlotte the 'most premium' cabin will be Business.
With the 'latest arrivals, Lufthansa's 'Allegris destinations' rise to seven: the list includes. San Francisco, Shanghai, Chicago, Newark, San Diego, Charlotte, and Bengalore. Among them, First is bookable, for the time being, only from Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai, and Bengalore.
As known, First's Suite Plus (the one located in the middle section of the cabin) can only be reserved for an additional price of 1,900 euros each way in addition to that of the ticket. The two side suites, on the other hand, are 'free of charge' for those booking a seat in First.
In Business, 'standard' seats can be preselected at no additional charge, while those offering extra comfort (Suite, Extra Space Seat, Privacy Seat and Extra Long bed) can be reserved at a costo ranging between 100 euros (for Privacy seat and Extra Long Bed) and the 130 euros For the Extra Space Seat.
While it takes us 400 more for the Suite, which has higher walls, a sliding door for total privacy, and a 24-inch IFE screen (versus 18 in the other seats).
Lufthansa has also already installed its Allegris cabins on a dozen or so Boeing 787-9s, which, however, are 'stopped at the post' for several months in Everett and Charleston in the U.S. waiting for the very new booths (and particularly that of Business, which as on the A350s is a 'one-off', in terms of layout, get the certification by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Unlike the A350s, which have 4 classes with 4 seats in First, 38 in Business, 24 in Premium economy and 201 in Economy (for a total of 'just 267 seats), 787 Allegris are outfitted in three service cabins with 28 seats in Business, 28 in Premium Economy and 232 in Economy for a total of 278.
