As always, when there are major changes, the announcements are not precise in detail, especially when they are secondary aspects to the big picture.

Yesterday's day was historic and intense, And now slowly the waters are calming down and the details of the puzzle are falling into place, therefore, it is necessary to make some clarifications Than what I have written and said in the last 24h. Without forgetting that there are two machines that have to align that of ITA inside the LH group, which I remind you is composed of several companies scattered around Central Europe and vice versa.
Example. Yesterday, upon my specific question, the CEO of Lufthansa confirmed the possibility of issuing LH award tickets using Volare points. Except to then note that there is currently the possibility of issuing award tickets on ITA using Miles&More, but not the opposite i.e. using Volare points to issue award tickets on LH.
Miles&More points and status issue
Those who are not familiar with the operation of the Miles&More loyalty program can consult our guide, but the important thing is. at the present time I must refute what I wrote yesterday. Currently AZ flights are not even categorized in Miles&More as of flights operated with Star Alliance carriers, since they do not generate points for status purposes but only Miles&More.
This is an important distinction because this means. these flights do not generate qualifying points and HON Circle, only Miles&More miles. So the "weight" is zero for the purpose of obtaining M&M status.
Obviously I did not go crazy, but upon specific question yesterday first on the sidelines of the press conference and then while I was in the lounge together with LH representatives, I had been confirmed that the points were the same as for Lufthansa flights.
Lounge access
Several users, yesterday reported to me that they were bounced into Hangar lounge at Fiumicino, I confirm that to my question before entering with Miles&More card I was given a negative answer.
I believe this is a directive alignment issue and (I hope) already today it has been resolved. I am in addition waiting for a response from LH regarding accessible lounges for those with Volare status.
In the specific case LH has two types of lounges the business and Senator, given the difference between the loyalty programs they are waiting to know which lounges Premium and Executive Volare will be able to enter.
Conversely, many FTV Miles&More are asking me if they will be able to access ITA lounges, again I am waiting for answers.
ITA Airways flight points accumulation on Miles&More
Passengers can choose which card to credit flights to, the system works, and crediting is virtually immediate. Just as with points, which as mentioned are used for status, Miles&More mileage accrual is also calculated using the same table as partner flights.
As a reader pointed out to me this morning, an AZ flight from Palermo to Rome costing a few tens of euros earned a whopping 1000 Miles&More points, while if credited on Volare card would have generated at most a few hundred qualifying and non-qualifying Volare points.
