After Korean Air, Asiana's turn. The second Korean company announced that from April will reduce the weekly frequencies of flights operated to three European destinations, in compliance with the requirements of the European Competition Authority for the green light for the merger between the Asian country's two largest carriers.
In this article:
Specifically, From April 25, Asiana will reduce from five weekly to four weekly its connections Between Seoul Incheon and Rome Fiumicino; from April 30 will reduce from daily to four-weekly the connection to and from Frankfurt; e From May 12 will increase weekly flights from six to five to and from the airport in Paris Charles De Gaulle.
Connections on the three European cities Are operated by Asiana with two-class Airbus A350-900s., with 28 seats in Business Class (1-2-1) and 283 in Economy (3-3-3).

The provisions of the European Authority stipulate that. to take over In the frequencies between Seoul, Rome, Frankfurt and Paris both the low-cost Korean T'Way Air, which has already been expanding its long-haul operations to both Europe and Australia for about a year, just following the go-ahead for the Korean Air-Asiana merger.
To do so, T'Way Air received from Korean Air five two-class Airbus A330-200s with which it began in 2024 to fly to Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Barcelona and Zagreb. The fleet has since grown with 4 A330-300 ex-Aeroflot, which was joined last December by a Boeing 777-300ER four-class former Cathay Pacific.

The fleet of 777s is set to grow as well as, indeed, frequencies over cities where Asiana has vacated slots. At Rome Fiumicino, flights will increase from 4 to 7 weekly from April 26, and three of those seven flights will be operated with Boeing 777-300ERs. On Frankfurt, T'Way Air's frequencies from Seoul will increase from 4 to 6 weekly from April 27 and then to daily from March 30 (all with A330-200), while on Paris will remain 5 weekly, three of which will be operated, however, no longer with A330-200 but with 777-300ER.
