As of March 30, 2025, Cathay Pacific will discontinue its direct flights between Singapore and Bangkok, the company had only restored the route a year ago, in March 2024, after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

This is one of the many fifth freedom routes transiting through Bangkok, for example in the course of my SAS million-mile hunt I flew with Kenya Airways on the Nairobi/Bangkok/Guangzhou, but with Marika we also flew on the most popular one of all the Dubai/Bangkok/Hong Kong, famous for being the cheapest First Class on Emirates' A380.
It was a Very interesting option for those who wanted to move around Asia in gio by taking advantage of avios points to fly well while spending little, since on this link the company uses the A350, that is, the same configuration of aircraft that are deployed on the long-haul, including over Rome and Milan.
Personally I have flown this route many times on my Asian tours. and the reason is simple-premium carrier at a low-cost price and at less than half the points required by Singapore Airlines on the same route.

I have booked this ticket several times, the last time I flew just on February 7, After disembarking from the flight in The Residence on the A380 I used it to reposition myself to BKK from where I left to return home. The reason is simple economy costs 9 thousand avios and 67SGD, while business only costs 16,500 avios.
The same flight if booked by British Airways costs(goes) almost twice as much both in terms of avios and cash. The reason I often opted for this solution is that with only 16 thousand avios I was guaranteed Qatar Airways lounge access, which is spectacular, as well as being able to use the halls of Qantas and that of Cathay.
Instead, it is unthinkable to waste SQ points for the same flight, in business class asks for 30 thousand Krisflyer, basically one-third of the points that I cost the First Class Suite on the A380.
