At theTaipei Airport, China Airlines has at least three lounges. I couldn't figure out whether the one I visited during my million-mile hunt was the "main", but it was probably the largest.
Location
In this article:
We are in the connecting area between the two terminals. A second lounge is in the food court area, but it was closed, and the third lounge is in the building of the Terminal 1, near the Plaza Premium.
Access
Being an official lounge, the doors open to passengers of China Airlines business class and all vectors SkyTeam taking off from Taipei. It can also be accessed by holders of a SkyTeam Elite Plus status With a SkyTeam flight.
The lounge
The hall is spread over two floors.
On the main floor, in addition to the reception, there is the area reserved for top flyers in the Taiwanese company's loyalty program.
The other guests are invited to go down the steps to access the rest of the lounge.
There is no elevator, but a luggage storage, so you can avoid carrying weights up and down the steps.
The lounge is a long corridor. On the walls, huge block letters grace the room. It would have been nice to have had a translation as well To understand its meaning. The first part Is set up with sofas and armchairs.
The bar area and the buffet are found a little further on, but we are always in a dungeon, with no windows or natural light.
At the level of services, there is little or nothing: two PCs to work and bathrooms. That's it.
Food & Beverage
One side of the lounge is set up to buffet. I left early in the morning and it was proposed that the breakfast. The offer included. local flavors, but not only, with both hot and cold offerings.
Nothing striking. To be what I think is the flagship lounge, I expected something better.
There is also a express cuisine, with the possibility of ordering five dishes via a tablet and collect them later. In this case, only local flavors, mainly noodle.
Finally, a small corner with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, but the offer is limited compared to what is found in other Asian lounges.
In conclusion
Mild insufficiency. The lounge is a recovered basement, with no natural light and no space to isolate oneself. The gastronomic offerings are below average.
