Do you dream of vacationing in the Maldives? The perfect time may have come: Marriott announced the reopening of W Maldives, closed in May 2024 to undergo a thorough restructuring.

The design and interiors of the 77 villas has been renovated by Miaja Design Group: guests can choose from the stilts - equipped with, among other things, a private pool and direct access into the crystal clear sea - and the beach villas. Not only that: larger groups can stay in Supreme Overwater Two-Bedroom Villas and Oasis Overwater Two-Bedroom Villas; in addition to that Marriott has added two new Oasis Two-Bedroom Beach Villas, each of which has water slides connecting the second floor to the pool.
"The new W Maldives embraces the deep cultural heritage of the Maldives, blending it with the modern design of the resort," says Amila Handunwala, General Manager of W Maldives. "Our goal is to offer guests a unique opportunity to connect with the traditions of the Maldives [...] Every detail has been carefully designed to reflect the soul of the destination, inviting guests to explore, discover and relax in a truly exceptional environment."
The restaurants and venues at W Maldives have also been renovated, in this case by EDG Design. 3, in total, are the restaurants: the "FISH", a refined place where guests can enjoy the flavors of the Indian Ocean; the "FIRE" and the "KITCHEN" buffet venue open all day.

Travelers, then, can relax in the AWAY Spa, or take advantage of one of the many activities offered by the hotel: classes in fitness, boat rides at Gathafushi-the resort's private island-and sessions at snorkeling In the coral reef.
