The news had been in the air for some time, however, it has now come the officialdom: India's low cost IndiGo - the country's leading airline by domestic traffic - announced that Will also begin to fly over Europe, specifically on Amsterdam e Manchester. The Indian low-cost company recently taken over by Norse Atlantic - through the formula of the wet-lease - one Boeing 787-9 'Dreamliner,' as deliveries of the Airbus A321XLR and A350-900 ordered will begin no earlier than 2027. The aircraft was immediately deployed on domestic routes, but from July it should start flying on MAN and AMS; IndiGo, however, expects to receive three more such aircraft from Norse by the second half of this year.
The Dreamliners in question are outfitted with two classes of service: 56 seats of premium economy (called "IndiGo stretching," with a 2-3-2 layout) and 282 seats in economy (layout 3-3-3).

Founded in 2005, IndiGo is India's largest airline in terms of fleet and number of passengers carried. Today the carrier is led by Pieter Elbers (former No. 1 at KLM) and operates a fleet of 372 aircraft: 33 Airbus A320ceo, 198 A320neo, 94 A321neo, 45 ATR72-600 and 2 Boeing 777-300ER.
