SWISS unveils the special livery of the first Airbus A350. When it will enter service and how it will be configured

There we are.. The first Airbus A350-900 by SWISS (HB-IFA brands) is about to enter service: there is no date yet, however, by summer it should make its first flight. 

The A350 in question will be special not only because it is the first such aircraft to enter the Swiss company's fleet, but also because it will have a very distinctive livery. In addition to the inscription "SWISS" and the iconic Swiss flag, there will be 'painted' in the fuselage of the illustrations - made the Swiss artist Frédéric Siegel - whose purpose is celebrate, in fact, the story and the culture of the Alpine country. 

A small note of color: in the special livery, whose name is "SWISS Wanderlust," we find not only the elements that distinguish Switzerland - such as the Alps, skis, the marmot and various monuments, just to name a few - but also Freddy Mercury. Well, yes: the legendary Queen frontman, who loved Switzerland very much and, in particular, Montreux, the city where Mountain Studios, the group's recording studios, were located, is also present. Besides that, as the company explains, the livery is also - to some extent - interactive: all illustrations in the fuselage can be explored, with augmented reality, at the SWISS website. 

As mentioned, therefore, there is still no date for Swiss's first A350 to enter service; we do know, however, how it will be outfitted. According to what the company has announced in recent months, the cabin-the new "SWISS Sense", derived from Lufthansa's Allegris - will be configured with 4 classes: first (4 chairs), business (45 places), premium economy (39) and economy (156), for a total of only 242 places. Yes, alone, in that the Swiss A350s will carry between 50 and 60 fewer passengers than the A350-900s of all the other companies that have them in service.
