Do you remember my review of flying business class with American Airlines? If you hadn't discovered TFC yet. I sum it up for you in 4 words: embarrassing, incomprehensible, mediocre, and insufficient.
In this article:
Of course you can also review it on the youtube channel, one of the worst experiences of my entire 2024.
A small step for AA, a huge achievement for passengers
Starting today, April 23, passengers in American Airlines premium cabins will be able to leave their Bang & Olufsen headphones in their seats before they get off the plane.
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
A small revolution that improves the onboard experience by eliminating the early interruption of entertainment in preparation for landing. Basically, until yesterday, all business class (or first) passengers about 40 minutes after landing had their headsets requisitioned by the crew.
According to AA, this change will not only improve the passenger experience but also for the cabin crew. The change is also designed to facilitate the work of flight attendants, who will be able to focus more on in-flight assistance instead of headset collection.
However, things do not change for everyone
This change affects all incoming flights to the United States, connections Flagship Service to and from Hawaii and those operated in the network American Flagship Service.
Extension to flights departing from the United States is planned later this year. In a nutshell, if you fly from Italy to the U.S. aboard AA this summer you will be able to take advantage of it, while on the return trip you still won't be able to enjoy the IFE's plethora of content until the very end.
In this case I recommend you my bluetooth adapter to connect to your headphones so you don't have to worry about anything.
In conclusion
A small but concrete step forward in the company's strategy to offer increasingly smooth and comfort-oriented service to premium customers and perhaps the result of much criticism from passengers, including myself, for the incomprehensible decision to remove headphones from business passengers which is not done by any other carrier in the world.
