Etihad's 6th A350/1000 enters service: new suites also fly to Milan

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, recently received its sixth Airbus A350-1000, a new aircraft that is part of the fleet modernization plan part of an investment of 7 billion to double in size by 2030, bringing the total number of aircraft from 92 to about 170​

Currently, Etihad Airways has five operational Airbus A350-1000s in its fleet, with ambitious plans to further expand this number in the coming years. The company announced. Etihad's Airbus A350-1000s operate on several international routes, connecting Abu Dhabi to key destinations such as Chicago, Delhi, Zurich, Mumbai, Paris, Tokyo, and Toronto. Although recently Milan Malpensa itself was added to the destinations.

Etihad's Airbus A350-1000s are configured to accommodate a total of 371 passengers, divided into two classes:

Business Class

On board this configuration, the cabin is equipped with 44 Collins Aerospace Vector seats, designed to offer comfort and privacy. Each suite has a sliding bulkhead that provides privacy even at the busiest times of the flight.

The seat transforms into a fully horizontal bed about 2 meters long, with a width between the armrests of 53 centimeters.  Each suite features an 18.5-inch static high-definition touch screen, universal AC outlets, USB-A, USB-C ports, and built-in wireless charger. Connectivity is also top-notch for entertainment: headphones can be paired via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for jacks or adapters. In the middle seats, the D and G seats are separated by a sliding screen that lets you choose whether to share the experience with your traveling companion or maintain maximum privacy.

Economy Class

The economy cabin accommodates 327 seats arranged in the classic 3-3-3 configuration. Each seat offers 12.7 cm of recline, a 4-position adjustable "hammock" style headrest, and a folding double door table.

Rows 20 to 24 are referred to as Economy Space: offound more legroom, with a wheelbase of about 89 cm and a seat width of 46 cm. The remaining rows, 25 to 57, have a standard pitch of about 79 cm, keeping the width of the seat unchanged.

Even in the economy, entertainment is provided by a swiveling 13.3-inch HD touch screen with a USB-A port and Bluetooth headset compatibility to enjoy movies and music freely.
