You call it a hotel with a view, but unfortunately there is (maybe) only that: review Pullman Tour Eiffel Paris

I'll do a double outing right away: I have never loved Paris e I did not pay for the stay in this hotel since I was a guest of Air France to attend the presentation of the new La Premiere. I have been to the Ville Lumière many times, but I must admit that since my first time (without parents) as a young adult on New Year's Eve in 1997, I have never been fascinated by the Parisian capital while I was (at the time) madly in love with London.
In this article:
Pullman is the Accor brand designed for those seeking a premium, dynamic and international hotel experience, without pushing into more formal luxury. Great for those who travel often, for business or pleasure, and want something more upscale than a standard business hotel.
Location
The Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel boasts one of the most iconic locations in all of Paris: Is located literally steps away from the Eiffel Tower, offering breathtaking views directly from many of its rooms. The hotel is located in the 15th arrondissement, in an elegant area that is well connected to both the city's main monuments and public transportation, With the Bir-Hakeim metro station just a few minutes' walk away. Perfect for those who wish to immerse themselves in the magic of the Ville Lumière with the Tower always at their fingertips.
I have no idea if it is a particularly problematic area, but I didn't remember seeing h24 security elsewhere in a hotel lobby.
The structure
Modern, elegant and with attention to detail, the Pullman facility combines contemporary design with comfort. I felt that the common areas were more updated and fresh, compared to the rest of the hotel.
The hotel has over 400 rooms decorated in a minimal-chic style, with neutral colors. The only IMMENSE flaw is that not all guests will be able to fall asleep watching the light show that the tower offers every night, for 5 minutes, from 7 pm to midnight. Due to tight schedules, I did not have a chance to check out the gym and other social spaces.
The room
As soon as I stepped into my room I was enveloped in a very unpleasant smell, it seemed that the last guest had spent hours and hours smoking in the room. I then asked for, and obtained, a new room, quite similar, and again With "unfortunate" eyesight.
Not being a frequent visitor to Accor hotels I do not have the opportunity to compare this property with others of the same sign, however, it seemed very lived in at least in terms of the state of preservation of the rooms.
There was the bare minimum in the room, which, however, did not give me the feeling of less is more, but more like less is cheap, with some really inexplicable solutions.
Such as installing a 3.o switchboard in the room, but absolutely away from the bedside table and placed inside the closet in the hotel lobby, a really inconvenient and nonsensical choice.
Otherwise bare-bones equipment, desultorily empty minibar and few hangers for such a hotel. One comes here to stay, to enjoy Paris for many days and maybe even with evening clothes to go to the Opera, Moulin Rouge or other gala events.
Every time I set foot in a 5-star hotel, with the bathtub shared with the shower , my final rating penalizes the room with 1 point less. Really unacceptable (and inaccessible). Excellent though the absence of disposable plastic, less so for the "cheap" choice of products offered in the bathroom.
Breakfast
I don't think there are many hotels that can offer their guests such a view from the breakfast room.
Petit déjeuner is nice to look at, although the feeling is that it is a very good marketing exercise, much smoke and little fire.
The size of the room is definitely not able to handle a possible influx with a full hotel; I had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated.
As mentioned on the surface everything is there, but in the substance it lacks what should make the difference, especially if we are talking about a 5* hotel.
If I can, with difficulty, accept the fact that a mimosa with fresh squeezed orange juice is charged, but 19€ is really an obscene price even if made with a Laurent Perrier as champagne.
Very bad, however, is the fact that if you want eggs benedict you are asked for 9 euros and that there is no option to order an omelet.
The products offered also seemed to me to be of a lower category than what would be logical to expect instead.
In conclusion
One might say donkey horse don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but since that's not how I usually review, I don't change my yardstick when the room is paid for by others and in these cases, I remember that, you don't even accumulate points or benefits.
The tower is really close, in some ways maybe too close, but if your room is not on the noble side I have the impression, not the certainty because I didn't pay for it, that the price is definitely not worth what this hotel has to offer.
