Not even time to publish the news about the Status Match launched by Miles&More for Flying subscribers, that I have literally been inundated with questions from TFC readers. Since there are so many doubts, I will try to answer the various questions and update this article with any interesting questions I receive even after its publication.
Where the Status Match is required
In this article:

You have to go to your restricted area on the ITA Airways website., after authentication a special button will appear to eligible holders to activate the procedure.

The only data that needs to be entered is that of the Mile&More card.
If I ask now, do I lose the chance to do it a second time?
What if your next trip was because of points?

Normally the answer would be yes, but in this case. there are no regulations that say how this Status Match request would make any other requests by the end of the year null and void. I don't have definite information from Volare or Miles&More, but it is certain that by the end of the year there will be similar initiatives to protect even those who obtained status during 2025.
What status achieved in the field means
It means that you have accumulated the qualifying points needed to obtain one of three statuses: Plus (30k) Premium (60k) Executive (90k). Points may have been accumulated by flying or through partners such as, for example, spending with ITA Airways American Express cards.
I am FTL and Premium, can I take advantage of the Status Match?

The answer is absolutely YES, if you have a lower level in Miles&More you can use this Status Match to become a Senator, just make the request by taking advantage of your Premium card or higher.
I take the status and you don't lose the status and then what?

If you apply for this Status Match, as in all other cases, you will not lose your starting card. And in this case since we are talking about two (almost) cousin programs, you will just have to decide what accumulation strategy to have post SM.
