The news has come that so many travelers and pet owners were waiting.
In this article:
Medium and large dogs and cats will finally be able to fly not only in the cabin, but also on the seat - next to their owner - obviously always inside the carrier, securely fastened to the seat belts.
As anticipated on the website of MIT, the Ministry of Transport, on Monday, May 12, Enac, the National Civil Aviation Authority, will officially launch the New travel regulations for pets.
Specifically, the Enac resolution states that "the following is allowed. carriage of pets in the cabin, housed within a special carrier to be placed even above the seats, provided it is properly secured by seat belts or other anchorage systems.
The Total weight of the animal and carrier may be greater than the limits currently prescribed, but do not exceed the maximum weight provided for an average passenger."
How do the rules change then? Until now, airlines have accepted animals in the cabin only small in size, such that it can travel in a carrier to be placed at the foot of the seat and with a maximum weight including between 7 and 10 kg, including container, according to different companies.
Dogs and cats - but especially medium and large dogs - forced to travel embarked in the pressurized cargo hold will now be able to enjoy the journey alongside the owner.
It is a nice change both for the owners, who will no longer fly with the anguish of knowing that their pet is alone in the cargo hold, and of course for the animal itself.
In fact, animals in the hold often experience a condition of stress and discomfort for the strong noise, the loneliness and theinhospitable environment. In many cases, some animals are even sedated to make them travel quietly, which is why many animal owners over time have given up traveling.
Now instead there is no longer any excuse to say no to air travel. Our pet will sit next to us, no problem.
