As anticipated in recent days this morning was held. The inaugural catwalk of ITA Airways' new Runway lounge..
In this article:
Located In the same spot where the old lounge was previously located Alitalia first and ITA in the recent past.
Bigger, brighter and with a spectacular gadget
Giving some numbers was ITA's number 1 Joerg Eberhart. The new waiting room has become bigger, now has an area of about 500sqm, and unlike the Hangar lounge at Rome Fiumicino, it is not an open space, but is divided into three rooms.
In the center is the large area that houses the bar, buffet area, and most of the more than 120 seats.
On either side we have two rooms separated, in one case by a mock fuselage and on the other by a wall that is reminiscent in every way of Roman lounge rooms.
Behind the fake fuselage is the business area. Here in addition to booths to work in there will be (because it is still being set up) an area with workstations.
On the flip side there is perhaps, the biggest lack of the FCO lounge i.e. a relaxation area, more separate therefore less noisy and bright where you can also put yourself down for a nap before takeoff.
More sophisticated catering and there's pizza
This is also a decidedly interesting step forward in terms of catering, which will be in line with what the other halls at Fiumicino offer passengers. The most eagerly awaited news is that there will be an oven for pizzas, and more, so as in the Piazza di Spagna there will be the quintessential product of Made in Italy cuisine.
Different menu from Fiumicino, attention to product and all prepared in the lounge kitchens to offer a higher quality product.
When will the Runway lounge open to the public
At the end of the parade came the official opening date to frequent flyers, both Volare and Miles&More, there are many new features and the public opening will be May 15. So the exile in Sea's Leonardo hall will last one more week, and then from mid-May passengers will return to their new home, which is definitely more beautiful and functional than before.
The rules of access
You will enter as usual with a business class ticket aboard ITA, Volare premium status or higher, and for the first time with Senator Miles&More status and/or a business class ticket with a Lufthansa group airline.
