As I have repeatedly recounted, the hotels near the airport Have a specific function: allow the traveler to have a bed where they can spend a few hours before a flight, or where they can rest after a long journey.

In this article:

Sure, there are hotels that are just as cool as those in the city center, but they are often old, discolored facilities where you are happy if your mattress is comfortable. Basically, I summarized this Holiday Inn.

If One Rewards is your program of choice, you certainly know the rules-which are then always the same for others as well: you book directly and take advantage, as much as possible, of any promotions. And that's exactly what I did.

I am new to IHG: I decided to do a series of stays in hotels of this sign to vary my content and to try to see how they treat you in other people's homes. So as not to have too great a trauma, I bought the status and over the course of 2025 I will try to figure out whether I like it or not.

discover offers dedicated to all TFC readers toward Melbourne departing from major Italian airports

Il Barbone is selecting the best flights...

This room cost me 99 euro, but it earned me several bonuses due to the presence of three different promotions that, as is often the case, are cumulative with each other.

    Location

Needing to sleep a few hours before returning to my hemisphere, I chose this hotel specifically because it was the cheapest in the IHG family and the closest to the terminal. If the road were not barred, it would be enough to get out of theMelbourne Airport, cross the multistory parking lot and you would arrive directly in the hotel parking lot.

    The shuttle

The free service runs H24: just call when you arrive and are sent to pick up guests.

An airport hotel without a shuttle should not exist by law, and instead there are many hotels around the world (and in some cases the airports themselves!) that do not offer this option. To name two: London Heathrow e Paris Charles de Gaulle force passengers to take other means and walk. In other situations, the shuttle is chargeable-and that should also be illegal. As always, all our clothes and valuables are stored inside Level8 suitcases. and readers using TFC10 can also take advantage of the discount.

    The structure

A seven-story cube in the middle of highways, but it is four minutes from the airport, and this allows you to waste zero time on unnecessary travel and gives you extra minutes of sleep in the morning.

Not to mention the peace of mind that unless you fall asleep, you will never risk missing your flight due to a traffic mishap.

There is a bar and restaurant room on the ground floor. Children under 14 eat free (if there is a paying adult). Too bad the prices are the same as the most expensive restaurants in the CBD center.

Fortunately, there is a McDonald's out the door - although I must admit it was one of the worst where I have ever eaten in my life.

    The room

Everything is old: from the chairs in the reception area to the room.

However, as said, only the mattress matters here - nothing more. And I must say that I slept well.

The mega TV was working, and the kettle for making hot tea was there.

Sure, the bathroom was not among the fanciest in the world, but it's hard to ask for much more than that from a Holiday Inn, which -- I remind you -- is a step above Holiday Inn Express.

    Breakfast

We did not do it, partly because it is fee-based and we were five minutes away from well four lounges Where we could have gone inside to eat and drink for free.

    In conclusion

Without infamy or praise, but you're not looking for a spa in these hotels-and for a few hours of sleep, that's more than fine.

Close to the airport, free shuttle, Mc Donalds nearby and clean room. At this price you can't want better.
