Big work ahead at Naples airport: from the January 19 to March 1, 2026 the Neapolitan airport will close completely for runway redevelopment works. An important decision, made in compliance with safety regulations and planned during an off-season period to minimize inconvenience to passengers.
In this article:
During these 42-day stop no flights will take off or land from Capodichino. Airlines are already working to reshape their operations: some will temporarily suspend routes, some will relocate them to other nearby airports.

These include the airport of Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi, which will be called upon to absorb some of the cancelled traffic from Naples. Of course, operations will be constrained by the limits imposed by ENAC and the actual availability of slots.

For travelers, this means. Check carefully for any changes or cancellations of flights already booked for that period, and consider alternative solutions, perhaps starting in Rome or Bari. Those flying to Campania, on the other hand, will have to take into account longer travel times to the center of Naples.

We also hope that this will be an opportunity to improve the internal spaces at the Neapolitan airport. In the meantime, we will keep you updated on all the news and affected flight movements-if you are planning to travel between January and March 2026, better to move early.
