On my recent trip just from Bergamo, I had noticed the flight departing for the country where they say Santa Claus is domiciled, and I had jokingly wondered what one could go and do "out of season," of course I was being sarcastic since it is definitely more beautiful in the summertime this part of Finland than in the wintertime.

Rovaniemi, known for being the gateway to Lapland and the "official home" of Santa Claus, is a destination that offers more than just Christmas atmosphere in the summer. From the phenomenon of midnight sun, to excursions in the finnish national parks, via visits to the Santa's Village without the crowds of the peak season: the Arctic experience thus becomes an option even for those seeking nature, tranquility and adventure In the warmer months.
According to Dara Brady, Ryanair's CMO, this expansion "gives Italian travelers even more choices for discovering Lapland even in the summer months."
