Although about an hour behind schedule, last Thursday, May 1, 2025 the first flight took off Genoa-Warsaw (WAW) operated by the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air: the first ever direct link between the Liguria and the Poland is finally reality.

The route-operating for the duration of summer '25, until the last Sunday in October-is served by 3 flights per week, every Tuesday, Thursday e Saturday. Departure from "Cristoforo Colombo" is scheduled at 08:50 and arrival at "Chopin" is scheduled for 11:05; in the reverse route, departure from Warsaw will be at 06:00, while arrival in Genoa is scheduled at 08:15.
Flights will be operated with the Airbus A320 family present in the Hungarian carrier's fleet; Wizz has a total of 71 aircraft, 16 A320s and 55 A321s.
