To Skytrax World Airlines Awards 2025 makes a big jump (although there are still many positions to 'climb' to get among those of excellence) ITA Airways, than from 74th place in 2005, climbs to 57th place among the world's best companies.
In this article:

Fourteen positions in only 12 months is no small feat, even if the rating still seems ungenerous for a product (at least the long-haul one) that boasts some of the best premium economy in the world, a three-class 'jewel' like the A321neo, and consistently satisfactory catering.

However, passengers who filled out the Skytrax survey from which the rankings arise must have taken into account the fact that the Italian airline during 2024 made its product uniformly hard on long-haul routes, by installing a Premium Economy cabin on Airbus A350-900s as well.

ITA also turns out to be the world's second 'most improved airline' in 2025 behind only Taiwan's Starlux, according to Skytrax. The carrier with the Savoy Blue livery gains a position in a ranking that had seen it in third place in 2024, behind Saudia and Egyptair. Not bad at all for someone who until 2023 did not even figure in the global top 100. However, the 57th place overall, once again did not allow it to appear on the list of Europe's top 10 companies.

Overall, it should be said that there is as always little Italy in the Skytrax rankings, partly because there are few airlines in our country and partly because the level is what it is... However, the top 100 also includes Air Dolomiti, which placed 82nd, ahead of such emblazoned names as American Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines, climbing an impressive sixteen positions from 98th position in 2024.

The Verona-based carrier is also 14th on the list of top 20 regional airlines, in a ranking dominated by the stainless Bangkok Airways.
