Review Senator Lounge (Schengen zone) Vienna Airport

If when you fly with the Lufthansa group each carrier has its own soul, its own service, and its own standard, when it comes to lounges the only one that stands out is Brussels with his Lofts in Brussels Airport.
In this article:

The other companies, however, have a common line in welcoming its passengers, a line that is a child of the philosophy that business passengers have their own lounges, Senators are treated better with namesake lounges, and finally, there are HONs who enjoy the same treatment as First Class passengers.

Here in Vienna, home of Austrian Airlines, this is the case: the two lounges-this one and the one in the non-Schengen area-follow this philosophy slavishly.
Location

Austrian has two lounge locations: two lounge blocks, one in the Schengen area and one in the non-Schengen area. In this case we are talking about Terminal 2, in the Schengen area, so it is intended for passengers with flights outside the European Union.
The location is on the second floor, just before document control for passengers heading on long-haul flights or to non-Schengen destinations.

In this area are the two lounge blocks of Terminal 2, namely the Sky Lounge - accessible for Priority Pass passengers - and the Lufthansa Group lounge. I would have gladly visited what is voted as one of the best Priority Pass lounges in the world, but it is located in the other terminal.
Access
According to the scan of the boarding pass, one has the opportunity to access the respective lounge, with passengers directed to the correct path: Business, Senator and First/HON. This is also accessed here with Premium status or higher in the loyalty program Flying. Also of note is the Ability to enter using Dragonpass.
The lounge
We are not talking about a very large area, nor are we talking about a lounge full of fancy and amenities. Let's say it's a solid product, but you shouldn't expect anything of wow.

Past the entrance, on the right is the relaxation area with a series of large windows that allow you to admire the movements on the track and allow natural light to illuminate the environment.

On the opposite side is the food area, with the classic buffet found in almost all Lufthansa lounges. Let's say that if on board you can feel the difference between those flying Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels, or Swiss, in the group lounges this difference is much less noticeable.
The relaxation area consists of different types of seating; certainly the nicest are the few chairs in front of the window.

I waited for my flight using one of the two cabins to work in peace, without disturbing with my calls or being disturbed.
These Framery are really top: you adjust the light (even in call mode), temperature, table and seat height, and you are completely soundproofed from the outside.
Food & Beverage
The buffet is exactly what can be found in the Senator Lounge in Munich, rather than in Frankfurt or Zurich. The philosophy, the menu, the presentation are almost the same.
There is the island with the hot offering, where the menu changes according to the time of day. Breakfast is always served, followed by theall day dining, and finally the liquor corner.
Unlike other lounges, the beer tap, which is indispensable on German soil, is missing here. Let's just say that, as in other Lufthansa lounges, you never die of thirst here.
In conclusion

In conclusion, we are talking about a good product. Of course, one does not come here to look for fantasy.
