Wizz Air has surpassed the 100 million passenger mark in Italy since the start of operations in 2004. To mark the occasion, the company held an event at Rome Fiumicino Airport, where the 100 millionth traveler departing for Malaga was symbolically rewarded.

Rome Fiumicino is confirmed as the company's main Italian base, with 60 active routes to 25 countries. In 2024 alone, Wizz Air operated more than 91,000 flights to and from Italy, carrying more than 18 million passengers, an increase of 11.6% over the previous year.
The carrier has announced increased frequencies for summer 2025 on some of the most popular European and Mediterranean routes, such as London, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, and several Greek island destinations.

In Rome, Wizz Air employs about 600 people and has based a fleet of 13 Airbus A321neo aircraft. A new staff training center has also been operational since October 1, 2024.
