Held at the Salerno airport's boarding hall, in the presence of authorities and the press, was the ceremony to formalize the new name of the Salerno Amalfi Coast airport, which from today also includes Cilento, becoming "Salerno Amalfi Coast and Cilento Airport.". A highly symbolic and strategic choice aimed at enhancing an area of extraordinary scenic and cultural beauty.

One year after the first scheduled flights, launched last July 11, the event provided an opportunity to take stock of achievements and analyze development prospects and expected challenges. Participating in the discussion were. Charles Borgomeo, Gesac president and Assaeroporti; Pierluigi Di Palma, Enac President; Tullio Ferrante, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation; Antonio Iannone, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport; and concluded Vincenzo De Luca, President Campania Region. The new name was made official with the signing of the ordinance by. Carlo Marfisi, ENAC's Campania Territorial Director.
A positive balance sheet for the first year of operation, which closed with 370 thousand passengers, marking the birth of the Campania airport system managed by a single entity in an integrated and complementary system logic. This model made it possible to develop an impressive infrastructure investment plan and, at the same time, a significant network of connections, thanks to know-how in airport management and established partnerships with airlines already present in Naples.
Specifically, the first phase of development involved investments of about 80 million euros, out of a planned total of 223 million. Among the main interventions carried out and underway: the extension of the runway, the general aviation terminal that will be completed by the end of the year, the expansion of the fire station, and work on the existing terminal, parking lots, and road system. In parallel, intensive work has been carried on with airlines to offer a competitive and attractive network of connections.

Thanks to the strong carrier relationships built over the years at the Naples airport, the airport currently offers 16 direct destinations, 13 of which are international (Bergamo, Turin, Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels Charleroi, Bucharest, Geneva, Lyon, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Marseille, Nantes, Paris Orly, Tirana, and Vienna). Routes are served by major European low-cost carriers (easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea, Wizz Air) and British Airways.
