American Express has announced the opening of a new Centurion Lounge inside the airport of Amsterdam Schiphol.
In this article:
AMS's will be the second lounge in the old continent, the other is at the London Heathrow Terminal 3, technically there would also be a third Stockholm lounge, but it is not counted among the Centurion if not for the name.

Schiphol's official data reveal that. In 2024 as many as 4 million Italian passengers passed through the airport, placing Italy third among nationalities in terms of number of arrivals, certainly with ITA Airways' exit from Skyteam these are numbers that are bound to drop since passengers will no longer be routed via Amsterdam or Paris, but through Lufthansa Group hubs and beyond.
The new Centurion lounge in Amsterdam
The new lounge will be located between the Terminal E and F and the grand opening is scheduled in the 2026. This means that it will be in the area dedicated to non-Schengen flights where there are already 3 lounges: the beautiful Crown Lounge at KLM, the only Priority Pass lounge that is the Aspire Lounge and the oneWorld lounge opened during 2024.

The design will be inspired by local art and culture, with works by Dutch artists, full-height glazing to maximize natural light, and a food and drink menu inspired by the culinary traditions of the Netherlands.
"Every year, Schipol welcomes a large number of traveling American Express Cardholders, making this new Centurion Lounge an important addition to our growing global network of Centurion Lounges," said Audrey Hendley, President, American Express Travel.
"We know that travelers seek authentic, local experiences when they travel, and the new Centurion Lounge will offer a premium experience and services with a taste of Dutch history and culture."
With over 550 square meters, the space will present a palette rich in blue, green and earth tones, evoking Amsterdam's famous canals. The architectural forms, proportions and design motifs will recall the iconic facades of the city's canal houses.

The interior will also feature a cafeteria dedicated, designed to celebrate the central role of coffee in Dutch culture and to provide a welcoming place to relax and socialize, helping to create an atmosphere of "gezellig" - a Dutch term describing a state of comfort, welcome and conviviality.
"We are proud to welcome American Express as the first global credit card company to open a proprietary lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with the iconic Centurion Lounge," said Dave Stroop, Manager of Terminal Development at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
"We have worked hard with the American Express team to achieve this milestone and are excited to bring to life what promises to be a valuable addition to our airport offerings. With its focus on comfort, premium services and exceptional attention, we are confident that the Centurion Lounge will elevate the travel experience for eligible Cardholders and attract both frequent and new airport travelers."
Like all Centurion Lounges around the world, the one in Amsterdam will offer the Eligible cardholders an array of exclusive amenities: upscale kitchen and bar, individual workstations, plenty of power outlets and USB ports, several seating areas, Free high-speed Wi-Fi, and other amenities designed to enhance the airport experience.
