SAS places largest Embraer order in its history: 55 jets to revolutionize short-haul in Scandinavia
A $4 billion maxi deal to strengthen regional connectivity, reduce emissions and prepare for future growth

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced a record order for 45 Embraer E195-E2, with options for other 10 aircraft, marking the largest direct order from the Scandinavian carrier to a manufacturer since back in 1996. The value of the deal, excluding additional purchase rights, is estimated at around the 4 billion.

Deliveries from 2027, flexibility and sustainability at the core

The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2027, with a schedule that will span about four years. A jet designed for the future of sustainable flight

The E195-E2 is already being certified to operate with the 100% of sustainable fuel (SAF), while currently blends up to 50% can already be used. The aircraft is propelled by the engines PW1900G GTF of Pratt & Whitney, which guarantee a double-digit reduction in fuel consumption, emissions and noise pollution compared with the previous generation.
