Raleigh Durham, if you don't know, is the capital of North Carolina, we are further northeast than Charlotte and it is a destination that in recent years has seen an increase in direct flights from Europe. In fact, both Air France and Lufthansa have recently started flying here.
In this article:

The reason is the economic boom in what has been dubbed the "research triangle." that it has been experiencing in recent years combined with a favorable climate and a quality of life more like a small town than a large metropolis.
I, however, ended up there because of bad weather And I was forced to spend a night in a nearby Four Points by Sheraton.
Location

RDU airport is not very big, but all American airlines and several European carriers fly here. In Terminal 2, the main terminal, there are three lounges. One each for the three big American airlines.

Once past security, the United Club is to the left, while SkyClub Delta and this Admirals Club are to the left on the floor above the stores. The two entrances are right in front of each other. There are no other lounges.
Access

Admirals Clubs are the "poor" lounges of American Airlines.. They are present in smaller airports and beyond.
Access rules are the traditional ones: Business class ticket or status, at least Sapphire oneworld or higher. Fortunately (to date) only Delta has changed the access rules, devaluing status and ticket against the credit card.
The hall

Airport small, lounge equally minimal. "Lived-in" furnishings, tired colors.
It is an open space with two separate small rooms. In the first is a small business center, with stations suitable for those who need to work.
In the second one there is a dozen or so armchairs, but it is really sad since it has nothing but precisely the seats.

In the main hall there is a TV area and lots of seating.

Some seats overlook the terminal, the glass window in fact is a view of the gates and, in the distance, the runway.
Food & Beverage

Inevitable in the U.S. is the bar counter, full service and where - I remind you - one must have the courtesy to tip the bartender.
The food offerings were excellent, as it was lunchtime there was both hot (even some chili shrimp) and cold offerings. Right down to dessert, in fact, desserts.
There is a refrigerator for cold drinks and an automatic machine for hot ones, basically everything you would expect from a lounge like this.
In conclusion

Strongly growing airport, deserves something better. At the moment, however, this is what passes the hat, and it is better than nothing.
