The renewal we have seen in Newark and to London Heathrow here in Dubai has not yet arrived And this lounge, or rather double lounge, Is made in the mold of many other rooms of the German group scattered around the world. Let's say a little bit of Allegris is needed here as well.
In this article:
We are in the dreadful Dubai Terminal 1, If you used to fly with Emirates and wonder why. DXB is not in the top 10 best airports in the world and why the construction of a new mega airport the reason is also because of this terminal.
Location
The lounges are all concentrated in the same area, we are on the upper floor after duty free.
Too bad, however, that before you get there, you have to go through security, then take the little train and finally go down two flights of stairs, go through the mall as mentioned, turn right, go up the stairs and go through the long corridor. A kind of treasure hunt.
Access
It is a Lufthansa Group lounge, so you enter with a business class ticket or status. Passengers from other Star Alliance carriers with the same requirements also have access and is also the lounge that can be used by ITA passengers.

To be fair, I had an economy ticket and Turkish Airlines status, and they first invited me to go to the TK-contracted lounge, then, given my insistence, they put on a good face.
Two lounges in one
There are two lounges: the Senator and the Business. The first one is larger, has a seemingly more generous buffet, but at the end of the day it only has a few more booze. Both have an overlook on the public area of the terminal.
The colors, furniture and furnishings are the same as those found around the other rooms in the group.

The Business room is slightly smaller, but this is always the case all over the world, including Germany: it is LH's philosophy to reward those with status over the occasional business class traveler.
Amenities-wise, there is a small business corner in the Senator and a couple of mega TVs in both rooms. Then, bathrooms and wifi excluded, there is nothing else.

More pleasant, as mentioned, is the Senator, which also differs in that it has 4, say four, slightly secluded chaise lounges.Otherwise lots of seating with power outlet, local, not multi or German.
Food & Beverage
The proposal is identical, only the quantity changes. In addition, in the Senator section we have some hot products, but otherwise everything is very similar.
No bar, no bartender, but a hot drink machine and a corner with wines and spirits available in open self-service bar mode.
In conclusion

Can we say that we bring home an honest draw? Nothing special, partly because we fly to Dubai here more for presence than anything else, given the undisputed dominance by the home company. Lounges accessible with Priority pass and DragonPass are definitely better.
