As of August 1, 2025, a partnership went into effect that will make mileage collectors happy: Oman Air e Turkish Airlines have joined forces on their respective loyalty programs, Sindbad e Miles&Smiles.
In this article:
The curious detail is that we are talking about two different alliance companies: Oman Air has just entered oneworld, Turkish Airlines is one of the pillars of Star Alliance. Yet, with this agreement, it will be possible to accumulate cross miles:

Miles&Smiles members They earn miles by flying with Oman Air.

Sindbad members can do the same by flying Turkish Airlines.
For frequent flyers, it means having more flexibility: you will be able to grow the mileage balance in your preferred program even when you fly with an "out-of-family" carrier.
For now the collaboration is only about accumulation, so no Oman Air award tickets paid for with Turkish miles (at least on the Miles&Smiles side).
But it remains an interesting step because it opens the door to future developments and, more importantly, it shows that barriers between alliances are no longer as rigid as they once were.
Great news for those who like to "mix and match" their routes and make each flight work in favor of the right mileage balance.
