The first two ITA Airways aircraft to sport the Star Alliance logo: an Airbus A320 and an A220-300, the forerunners of a series of aircraft that will receive the same hallmark in the coming months.
A symbolic but concrete passage
In this article:
The new logo is not just an aesthetic detail: it represents the path that will lead ITA Airways to join Star Alliance in 2026.

The alliance, which already brings together giants such as Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and United, is the largest global air transport network.
Why a logo on the fuselage is not enough
The path to Star Alliance is far from immediate. It's not just a matter of applying a new logo to planes or updating tickets: behind the scenes a huge amount of work is needed to integration of information systems, harmonization of operating procedures and especially of regulatory approvals.
One example is the Transatlantic Joint Venture which the alliance manages between Europe and North America: opening the door to codesharing means coordinating flights, fares and slots, but also getting the green light from the civil aviation agencies of the United States, Canada and the European Union. It is a complex process, requiring months-if not years-of negotiations and verification.
Also a full Star Alliance dual livery

Like all member vectors, the ITA Airways will have to equip itself with Two aircraft in full Star Alliance livery: one operational on short/medium range and one on long range.
An obligatory choice that has a strong symbolic value because those planes become visual ambassadors of the alliance around the world.
Too many answers are still missing
But now I also serve all the answers to open questions starting with the future of ITA Airways statuses, points and credit cards. The December 31 dead line is getting closer and closer And loyal customers should not be left on their toes all the time.
