Achievements should be celebrated, it is obvious; and in the world of commercial aviation one of the best ways to do this is to create a special livery. So did the German company Lufthansa Who, looking ahead to 2026 - the year in which he will 'turn' 100 years of activity in the skies - unveiled an aircraft characterized by commemorative livery very aesthetically pleasing.

Special livery for 100 years: starring the iconic Lufthansa crane
La special livery for 100 years of Lufthansa features a design that is as bold as it is rich in meaning: the fuselage has been completely painted with blue (whose hue, personally, made me think of Riyadh Air's livery), with a majestic white crane in flight that visually merges with the wings of the aircraft. In fact, for those who do not know, the crane has been the historical emblem of the German company since its founding: designed almost 100 years ago, in the 1918, by architect Otto Firle, this symbol has become a globally recognizable icon over the years.

In addition to the crane symbol, then, the special livery also features the number "100" on the left side of the fuselage, and the dates "1926/2026" in the opposite side.
Which plane will have the commemorative livery (and when it will ply the skies)
The aircraft chosen for this celebration is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner; the plane, which is currently being outfitted at Boeing's Charleston plant, will be delivered to Lufthansa in November and will enter service the following month in December 2025. The Dreamliner in question will be one of the key players on intercontinental routes operated by Lufthansa in the year of the centenary, 2026.

The other celebration for the company's first 100 years: FOX, Future Onboard Experience.
As my colleague Matteo Legnani recounted in another article., Lufthansa in recent hours announced that in the next twelve months it will invest as much as 70 million. The goal? To make an upgrade in on-board service. This initiative, dubbed FOX - acronym that stands for Future Onboard Experience - will be launched during the spring 2026. The one in question, as mentioned, is one of the novelties with which Lufthansa intends to celebrate 100 years since its founding.
