Neos enters era of loyalty programs: but those who fly "flight only" are left empty-handed
Alpitour World's AWARD everything you need to know about the Italian tour operator's points

It was the missing piece: Neos, the Alpitour Group's airline, from 2026 will finally be part of a loyalty program.
In this article:
It is called AWARD and, at least on paper, promises to unite all brands in the Alpitour galaxy, from packages to stays to Neos flights and VOI hotels, into a single ecosystem.
For those who are loyal customers of the Italian tour operator, there is nothing new except the name of the points collection. Previously, the collection was called You&Sun
Attention to detail
However, there is one detail worth noting right away: Those who buy only the flight will not accumulate a point. The regulations are clear: the prize operation concerns only the stay practices or flight+stay packages purchased through the official channels (websites, call centers or partner agencies in Italy and San Marino).
No dice, then, for those who use Neos as an alternative to ITA, Lufthansa or other airlines for simple air travel: the ticket alone, even if Neos is part of the program, will not entitle them to any benefits.
What if your next trip was because of points?

Alpitour, after all, wanted to focus on the group's entire supply chain, not just aviation.
"With AWARD, we want to offer our customers tangible and lasting value that goes beyond a single trip - explained Gabriele Burgio, President and CEO. "This is a forward-looking initiative, a commitment to stand by those who choose to travel with us, further strengthening the Group's positioning as a tourism benchmark.
How Alpitour's points collection works

But how does AWARD actually work? Points are accumulated based on the type of stay, duration and, in the case of packages, even the Neos flights included.
A 7-night trip to a Francorosso SeaClub with Neos medium-haul flight, for example, generates 200 points for the stay, others 160 points for flights (thanks to the x2 multiplier) and a little extra of the 5% of bonus package. Total: 378 points, which are not divided among travelers, but awarded in full to each participant. In other words: the couple that leaves together takes home. 378 points each.

The program is especially generous to families. A two-week vacation at a resort Turisanda, with two boys in tow and a Neos "high value" long haul, gets to exceed the 1,400 points per practice. And as each traveler receives the full credit, the final bill for a family of four approaches the 5,600 total points.
The logic is simple: more nights, premium brands, full packages and children in tow mean more points. And if the flight is Neos long-haul, the return grows exponentially. Watch out for deadlines, though: You must sign up within 15 days of your return, correctly associate your reservation with your profile, and claim your rewards by September 30, 2027. After that, everything resets to zero.
What to do with Alpitour's award points
And the points, how much are they worth? Here comes the "math" part that frequent flyers like so much: the Alpitour World coupons offer the best yield, about 8.3 cents per point (1,200 points = 100€ discount). Retail gift cards, on the other hand, yield less (about 5.8 cents per point). Translated: if you want to maximize, it pays to invest it all in upcoming group trips.
AWARD is not, therefore, a frequent flyer program in the strict sense. It is not Miles&More, it is not Avios, and it does not have the flexibility of the big global schemes. Rather, it is a system designed for those who choose Alpitour in its entirety: Neos flights, stays, packages, and, starting in 2026, even VOI hotels. Those who move within this perimeter will be able to turn each vacation into credit for the next one. Those who only buy a Neos ticket, on the other hand, will have to make do with the flight and that's it.
In conclusion

In conclusion: AWARD marks a step forward for Neos and the entire Alpitour group, finally bringing structured loyalty. But it remains a program tailor-made for package buyers, not for those who see the plane as a standalone ticket.
A distinction that will cause frequent flyers to debate, but one that hints at a clear strategy: rewarding those who stay in the ecosystem, rather than just the transient.
