At this airport we have all (at least virtually) been there. much more than in the much-cited hubs of Dubai, Singapore or Doha.
In this article:
L'El Dorado in Bogotá has become almost familiar, at least for those who have devoured the episodes of Airport Security.
Location
The Avianca Lounge Bogotá in the international terminal is located immediately after the duty free and passport control, in the central area of the terminal. Once through the checkpoints, the sign "Avianca Lounge | VIP Lounge" is clearly visible just beyond the stores.

The lounge is located near gate 32, but at the moment the main access is closed: to enter it you have to go through the food court, which has a separate staircase.
Access
There are two lounges: one reserved exclusively for Avianca passengers and an independent one. Unfortunately, the official one was closed for construction, so I was only able to visit the second one, which is part of theAmerican Express Global Lounge Collection.

In addition to Amex holders, Club LifeMiles members, Plaza Premium Smart Traveller program members, Priority Pass and DragonPass members can access it.
The lounge

The space is large and the open-air design makes it even more spacious. This type of lounge that is "open" to the terminal has the advantage of being very bright: although it has no view of the forecourt, it allows for distraction while observing activity in the public area.
The facility is organized in "concentric circles": in the center is the food area and the main relaxation area, with a buffet offering both hot and cold dishes, from savory to sweet.
In the outer radius, however, are the TV area, a darker space dedicated to relaxation and perfect for a nap.
The work station is fully sponsored by Samsung: work tables, private workstations with ergonomic chairs and 32″ monitors that can be connected to one's notebook. Power outlets are numerous and well distributed.

Bathrooms are spacious and impeccable, with two showers available upon request at the front desk.
There is also a large children's area: colorful, with padded floor, games, a playhouse with slide, small tables and chairs for parents.
Food & Beverage

On the food front, this lounge is a real surprise, both in quantity and quality. At the center, the buffet offers sectional salads, fresh juices, and freshly prepared grilled sandwiches.
Two hot soups are available: a vegetable soup and a tortilla-style chicken soup, both rich and hearty. Condiments, croutons and tortilla strips allow you to customize the dish to your liking.

The buffet also includes fresh juices (watermelon and orange) and flavored water. Beverage stations on either side of the lounge offer bottled water, soft drinks (Coca-Cola), iced tea, and coffee machines.
The staff is attentive and constant: they stop by frequently to clean, restock, and keep everything in order. Truly a level of service.
In conclusion

A lounge that surprises with the breadth, comfort and quality of its gastronomic offerings. A place where time while waiting for a flight flows quickly and pleasantly.
