Those who often fly with SAS knows well the Scandinavian company's "Achilles' heel": lounge access. Historically, in fact, outside its bases and alliance lounges (first Star Alliance, today SkyTeam), SAS did not guarantee anything.
In this article:

Result? Passengers also Business Class and elite frequent flyers often found themselves without a lounge to wait for their flight. A really strange thing even considering the quality of this carrier's lounges and who of course has already extensively reviewed.

From October 1, 2025 things really do change. SAS has signed a series of agreements with independent operators that open the door wide to 35 new lounges throughout Europe, including Italy.

At last, SAS passengers departing from Italy will also have access to waiting rooms worthy of their status. The cities affected are:
- Milan Linate the Leonardo hall
- Venice (coming Oct. 1)
- Florence (under negotiation)
- Naples There being only one there is no doubt which one it is
- Bologna the new Prima Vista
This is a huge step forward for a carrier that regularly serves our country and until now left its customers at the gate.

The expansion is not just about Italy: SAS has fielded a full-fledged European plan. Here is the full list of confirmed destinations (with more coming by fall):

What changes for travelers

This move marks a major leap forward for SAS and those who travel frequently with the company:
- Guaranteed access to tier lounges at key airports, even where the alliance does not cover.
- A more consistent experience with standards SkyTeam.
- Increased value for elite status and Business ticket.
In conclusion

For SAS, it is a "tangible" upgrade to its premium offering. For frequent flyers, a signal that the airline takes its passengers' comfort seriously, even when flying far from home.
