From 2026, passengers will be able to enjoy coffee from the Turin brand on all flights and in the American Airlines lounge, in a collaboration that combines Italian tradition with the American Airlines signature travel experience
Italian coffee for a global experience

To improve the quality of one's service, American Airlines starts with a simple but universal gesture: a cup of coffee. And to make it truly special, it has chosen those who, more than anyone else, represent excellence in this field. From 2026, coffee served on board and in the lounge of the company will be signed Lavazza, a family-owned Italian brand founded in 1895.
"At American, we focus on every aspect of the customer experience, and a quality cup of coffee is an important part of that journey. We are proud to partner with this iconic brand to offer our passengers a rich and fulfilling experience, both in-flight and while relaxing in our lounges," said Heather Garboden, chief customer officer of American Airlines, explaining how this choice represents another step in the overall improvement of the onboard experience.
Turin tradition and premium service
Founded in Turin and still run today by the family that created it, Lavazza brings to the world an all-Italian way of understanding the coffee: made of quality, care and attention to detail.
"Partnering with American Airlines allows us to bring the true Lavazza experience to travelers around the world. At Lavazza, we believe in creating moments of pleasure and connection through coffee, and working with a brand that shares our commitment to exceptional experiences further strengthens our presence in the market," said Hossam Ashraf, President for the Americas of the Lavazza Group.
The initiative represents a new step in the strategy of American Airlines, geared toward improving every detail of the premium experience, from in-flight service to hospitality in their lounge.

In 2026 American Airlines will celebrate its 100-year history, in fact it has already announced a special livery for one of its 777s, and it will also do so with an Italian touch. Now all that remains is to wait for the start of service with the Lavazza coffee aboard American flights and give us a date to enjoy it...in the clouds. Who better to judge than an Italian? Maybe one with a long beard. Or perhaps, simply, one of us.
