SpazioItaliaBar, eating on board Air Dolomiti it's Buonissimo

Those who follow my YouTube channel-or read TFC often-know very well that. I've always been a fan of paid but quality in-flight catering for economy passengers.

Sure, one can easily survive a two-hour flight without eating. But it's equally true that if you travel in economy and don't have access to a lounge, today eating at the airport has become almost as expensive as a stop on the highway. Nor is it certain that you eat well, seated and in a clean environment.

For about four or five years - I would say right in the post-Covid travel world - some traditional companies have decided to be inspired by the no frills model. But instead of offering anonymous snacks and improbable dishes, Have focused on good and beautiful products that are really worth spending on.

Thus came gourmet sandwiches, seasonal menus, and an increasing focus on different dietary needs, so that even those flying a Y-class ticket can satiate themselves with quality products.

From this point of view I have always told, also in this video, as Lufthansa group's approach has been exemplary in maintaining the identity of its companies through a different menu and proposal for each carrier.

It was the end of the 2021 when Air Dolomiti introduced its SpazioItaliaBar., the new in-flight dining proposal for economy passengers. A few months later also came the possibility of ordering an espresso - a unicum even today in Italian (and other) short-haul industry.

Today SpazioItaliaBar offers a changing menu according to the seasons, with dishes designed to satisfy every type of traveler.

In recent days I have been a guest aboard the E195 from Milan to Munich. and I got to try the three seasonal dishes, Pulled Beef Ciabatta, Oriental Burger and Salmon & Ginger Brown Rice.

The first thing I noticed was. the dishes were really similar to the promotional photos (and this is not at all obvious): generous portions, bold flavors, and an absolutely adequate price.

These three special dishes are joined by a selection of evergreen offerings, from sweet to savory-a perfect mix for those who are hungry and don't want to waste time eating at the airport before boarding.

And for those who don't want to spoil their appetite, there is always the option of indulging in Air Dolomiti's signature special aperitif in collaboration with Bottega. Here again you can choose just the drink, or add chips and snacks, to end the trip (almost) like at home.
