No new routes, no strategic announcement. At the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, ITA Airways showed up with growing numbers but no new features of substance. On stage, the president Sandro Pappalardo and themanaging director Joerg Eberhart outlined their 2025 results and outlook for the coming year: rising revenues, increasing load factor, and one message.
"We will meet the 2025 budget targets" Eberhart stated.
Otherwise, a conference more of a summing-up than a relaunch, in which everything that was said was already known to the most attentive readers.
In this article:

Revenues and load factor up
ITA Airways reported. passenger revenues of 2.17 billion euros, up by 4% than in 2024, and a average load factor of 83.4% (+2.5 percentage points). In the first nine months of the year, the following were transported 12.6 million passengers, of which approx. 2 million on long-haul flights.
Solid numbers, confirming that traffic is holding up well and that the international network is being consolidated. But beyond the data, no real strategy news: the goals remain unchanged and the guidelines already known.
Routes and frequencies: no real news
In the season winter 2025/2026 ITA Airways will operate 53 destinations, divided into 16 domestic, 21 international and 16 intercontinental. Not even the Rome-Mauritius, cited as "news," really is: the course had been announced months ago e already recounted on TFC, with the same features confirmed today (two weekly frequencies operated with Airbus A330neo, on Fridays and Sundays). Also confirmed is the return of the flight on Malé (Maldives) from December 19, the enhancements on Bangkok (5 to 7 frequencies) and on Buenos Aires (9 to 10 in peak months). All connections already planned or anticipated in the summer plan, without any surprises.
Star Alliance and fleet: only confirmations
Reiterated that entry into Star Alliance is expected between April and May 2026, with the gradual consolidation of synergies with the Lufthansa Group.
ITA recalled the codeshare with five German group airlines - Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti - which brought over 150 new combined links. Also the partnership between Flying and Miles & More, active since February, was cited as a key piece of the integration journey.
On the fleet front, is scheduled for the summer 2026 arrival of the next Airbus A330neo, a new part of the renewal plan. ITA Airways aims to become, by 3-4 years, the company with Europe's youngest fleet, a goal that remains one of the pillars of the industrial strategy.

An unshaken TTG
The feeling is that ITA Airways has chosen caution, showing up in Rimini With no new routes, alliances, or products to launch. An appointment more institutional than strategic, useful for updating data but lacking any truly unprecedented announcements.
In short, everything heard today was already known to the most attentive readers: the company remains solid but firm, waiting for the real change of pace that can only come with full integration into the Lufthansa Group.
