There is a deadline to mark in red on the calendar: October 31, 2025.
In this article:
In 10 days, on Halloween night, award ticket price updates will be triggered, Singapore Airlines will increase the number of miles needed to redeem tickets and upgrades in the program KrisFlyer, and the change will affect us Europeans as well. In practice, Flying to Asia in business or first class will cost more. Singapore has been very fair by giving great notice e especially the increase is there but it is nothing transcendental.
Not everything increases, to be honest-short flights in Economy in Asia will cost slightly less-but for those who use KrisFlyer to fly from Milan, Rome, Paris or Frankfurt to Singapore and beyond, the news is not positive.

The Suite on board Singapore Airlines' A380.
On October 27, which is one week from now, I will embark for the Second time in my life aboard the First Class Suite on Singapore's A380.. My birthday self-gift, as a result of this price increase the same promotion made after November 1 would cost me 15.1% more Krisflyer miles.

That is, the two tickets instead of paying 451k miles, I would have paid 519k. Practically with the difference today we get a business class ticket from Istanbul to Singapore.
What changes on November 1
From November 1, 2025 all award bookings will be updated to the new rates. Instead, those who book by October 31 Will still pay for the old, more affordable ones. And you don't need to leave right away: you can book up to 355 days before departure, so also for travel in fall 2026.

In concrete terms, a ticket Business Saver between Europe and Singapore will increase by about 5,000 miles per route, while in First Class the price increase will be around the 7,000 miles. On the rates Advantage (those with more availability) the increase is even heavier, up to 15%.
We are not talking about astronomical figures, but on a round-trip ticket Is 10,000-15,000 more miles. Better to spend them now while they are worth more.
When it pays to move now
If you are planning a trip to Asia in 2026-perhaps a Singapore stopover, a vacation to Thailand, or an itinerary as far as Bali or Tokyo-. these are the perfect weeks to book. Even if the dates are not fixed yet, you can lock in the mileage fare now and change the flight date later by paying only $25 fee. As long as you don't touch the course or the cabin, you won't have to add miles.

A concrete example: a flight Rome-Singapore Round Trip in Business Saver 207,000 miles today; 217,000 miles will be needed by November.

Even better if you want to fly in business from Istanbul to Singapore, today this ticket costs practically half as much as a flight from Rome, sure you have to go all the way to IST, but do you want to put the savings in miles? This is the route that will have the most significant increase over 20%, in fact the same ticket will cost 68k miles each way.
When it's not worth running
For short flights from Singapore to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Hong Kong, the increase is minimal. Those who use KrisFlyer primarily to travel within Asia can wait: the savings today would be too small to justify a "rush" booking.
Better to focus on long-haul flights, where the price difference in miles is really significant.
And for those flying with Star Alliance airlines.

Also redemptions on partners Star Alliance (Lufthansa, Swiss, Turkish, ANA, etc.) increase between 5% and 12%. So if you have a "mixed" itinerary in mind, e.g. Milan-Zurich-Singapore with Swiss, or a Frankfurt-Tokyo with ANA, Better lock it in by October. After that date more points will be needed there as well.
No rush for Scoot
If, on the other hand, you use KrisFlyer miles for low-cost flights with Scoot, you can relax: the fares do not change. Just remember that those tickets are not refundable, so book only if you are sure to go.
In conclusion

Devaluations are part of the game, but this time it directly affects those who fly between Europe and Asia - and for us Europeans who love Singapore Airlines Business Class, the blow will be felt. The moral is simple: if you are planning to travel in 2026, even if only in principle, book by october 31. You can always change the date later, but the old rates will not come back.
As we often say on TFC: miles should not be collected, they should be spent well - and this is one of those times when it really pays to use them before they are worth less.
