For the second time during 2025 I "ended up" at Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon and of course as my usual I stayed in a different hotel. The choice to accumulate points is not much in this city and so atI sell already given in the house IHG I took the opportunity to try the cheaper solution where I could also accumulate points.
In this article:

Ibis sign is a low-cost brand in the Accor family And thus this living room, in addition to the points in ALL also brought me a handful of Flying Blue, always better than nothing.

The location is spectacular, right in the center of the city. We are a 4-minute walk from the iconic Amazonas Theater, and from here you can set out to visit the city that was the economic capital of Brazil in the late 1800s and one of the richest cities in South America.
Check-in

I arrived at the hotel at 3 a.m, and I must say that the paperwork seemed eternal. Of course, I did not expect an early chek-in, but I had booked the room already for the night of my arrival.

The cost for the 3-night stay was just over €140.
The room

In Asia with similar figures I have found myself in modern hotels, rooftop pools and 50-story skyscrapers. Here, on the other hand, we are in South America and therefore none of that.
The room is basic, but not in the sense of decor as fashionable today, in the sense that there is nothing, not even a full bathroom. Opening the door one is confronted with a bathroom sink, a bed, and an open closet. A television that in 3 days I never turned on, an empty and noisy mini-bar, a window to nowhere. Comfortable bed, no topper or even blanket (which is only needed if you turn on the air conditioning).
Half bath, where it is also difficult to move around.
The structure
The essentials are also in the rest of the hotel. There is a small gymnasium, and a small indoor garden. The common area is really small and with few seats.
There is a small pantry and then the dining hall.
Breakfast

The best thing about the hotel, or rather the least worst.
Varied buffet and I also asked for a butter tapioca and they prepared it for me on the spot.
No barista, no chance to have a cappuccino with non-powdered milk, but for refreshment it is more than enough.
In conclusion

Sure for some it might seem expensive, but certainly not for us Europeans. Highly recommended for those who want to have a convenient base in the city and accumulate points. For All others I recommend the Casa do Bispo.
