After years of operations focused on smaller airports and routes seasonal as Lamezia Terme, Catania, Olbia and Cagliari, the arrival on Rome Fiumicino marks a quantum leap for Smartwings. Entering Italy's main airport means facing a wider market, with an international catchment area and a strong business component in addition to the leisure component.

The Rome-Prague connection includes. four weekly frequencies - Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday - during the 2025/26 winter season. With the start of the summer schedule, from the March 29, 2026, flights will become dailies, offering more choice and convenient schedules for passengers.
The inaugural flight was greeted with a ceremony at the gate of Fiumicino, in the presence of representatives of Smartwings, Rome Airports e GSA Space, the company's general sales agent in Italy, along with passengers on the first connection to the Czech capital.
