For those traveling from Italy, this is a new economic option to reach a destination still little traveled but growing in European tourism. The Montenegro offers sea, mountains, and historic cities such as Kotor and Budva, all within easy reach of Podgorica.
With this opening, Rome Fiumicino is confirmed as the main Italian base of the company, from which they depart today more than 60 routes to 24 countries. In 2025 alone, Wizz Air carried more than 5 million passengers to and from the capital, with punctuality and fill rates on the rise.
In total, the Hungarian company serves 27 Italian airports and connects Italy with 32 Countries, operating 245 routes. Numbers that consolidate our country's role as a main market for Wizz Air, which continues to expand especially on international short-haul routes.
