In the course of my lucrative hunt for the million Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles I found myself having to spend about 10h in Dubai, between u flight to and from Istanbul.
In this article:
So I aimed for an area of the city I like, where I have already reviewed several hotels, and this time I aimed for Marriott because the reviews in the most famous emirate I almost always slept in Hilton.
Reservation
Prices in Dubai can be crazy, in either direction. You can sleep in a 5-star luxury for less than €80 and in a Hampton Inn for €160, depending on the time of year, with summer having the lowest prices.

Sleeping in this hotel cost me less than 80€. and for those who don't believe me just see how many points I accumulated with this night considering that you get 10 base points for every dollar spent.
In fact, I had latched onto a hotel-specific promo also offered a bonus night every night booked, useful for renewing status, and another 2000 extra bonus points.
Location

We are located in the Dubai Creek area. Dubai Creek is the historic heart of the city, the place where Dubai was literally born and from which it transformed into the modern giant we know today.

Along this natural canal, which separates the districts of Deira and Bur Dubai, one can still feel the authentic atmosphere of the trades of yesteryear. In recent years the area has been completely redeveloped, with scenic promenades, museums, boutique hotels and restaurants overlooking the water.
It is a perfect area to understand the dual soul of Dubai, between tradition and modernity, and to get the most genuine experience of the city, perhaps crossing the Creek on an abras for a few dirhams. Here I have slept in so many hotel and the reviews of course are all on the site.
Check-in

I arrived that it was midnight, I just felt like going to my room, taking a shower and sleeping, since my departure was for 7 am the next morning.

Despite the hour there was a line at the reception desk, but it is understandable given that Marquis label is added to hotels only if they have more than 1,000 rooms and if a hotel is of this size, it is obvious that there is h24 comings and goings.
The common spaces on the ground floor are huge, here is also a café and plenty of space to stop and chat with a friend before heading out, to give a client an appointment, or simply to take refuge from the heat and wait for the driver.
The room

As well as the prices in Dubai you can end up in rooms the size of villas in Segrate and others like the walk-in closet Of an apartment in citylife, you never know.
Here I had ended up in a middle ground, huge room, but not a suite. Let's say, though, that it was still bigger than my house.

Impeccable bed and mattress, topper and cloud comforter, perfect for those who want to shoot the air conditioning to the max and sleep warm under the covers.

Pulled (almost) bed and pillows from a thousand and one nights, all products that Marriott sells on its site at a high price, but you pay for quality.
Room equipment appropriate to the facility, What I don't understand, however, is how a 5stelle can have a sadly empty minibar.
The ante-bathroom was represented by a walk-in closet, capacious, but I would like to know how many people come here and unpack.
Bathroom the size of a single room in a 4* Rimini equipped with everything you could need.

Home automation throughout the room, ability to close the many curtains directly from the bedside table, ability to manage lighting around the TV and, Last but not least, a button that turns everything, but everything, off.
The hotel

Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to test the lounge, breakfast or other hotel amenities.
On the ground floor there is a sort of beer hall, too bad only that I arrived as they were about to close and couldn't enjoy a small beer in a definitely nice environment.
In conclusion

I was sorry not to test the breakfast, it will be for the possima time, but if anything I missed something really interesting.
