March 17, Together with about ten fellow travelers, I will fly to New York, Unfortunately, I will not participate in the St Patrick's day parade, but no big deal.
In this article:
If the outward journey we will model it vacation group, the return will be free and in my case it had triggered the search to find a way Interesting to return home as soon as possible.
Of the various options, Emirates won

A few days ago Emirates has officially brought premium economy to New York., via Milan, the one from Malpensa is. the only EK flight to the U.S. that does not depart from Dubai on the A380 and now, almost 3 years after its debut, it will be operated with a revamped double decker and set up in 4 classes.
How I booked the award ticket
Looking for award tickets with Emirates is very easy and when I saw that there was room I did not tergiversate too much, of course I could have invested my miles better, but I had 21k skywards expiring on 12/31/2025
What if your next trip was because of points?

Considering that the ticket, one-way has a cost of 49 thousand skywards and 122.5$ tax, I opted to transfer 50k Membership Rewards miles to my EK account.

The same ticket paid cash would have cost over 1500$, sure one could "criticize" by saying that a normal person would never buy a one-way ticket, but the beauty of award tickets is precisely that being able to book outbound with one carrier and return with a different one.

I transferred more points than I needed, but I didn't want to totally zero out my account and in any case I won't have any problems using the remaining Emirates miles in the future.

The good thing is. from Membership Rewards to Skywards the transfer is virtually real-time, it was enough to log out and log back in to see them credited.
No extra charge for place or suitcase

The ticket issued in this mode is in the Flex Plus fare, which means it is cancelable and changeable without penalty and is eligible for class upgrade, which of course I will not do because the flight is booked specifically to review this cabin.

At this time there is no availability for immediate upgrade, but Emirates gives the option to select the waitlist with automatic upgrade in case availability opens up, in which case I would be asked to pay for an additional 24 thousand Skywards miles.
In conclusion
I am looking forward to trying out what many believe is the first "true" premium economy on the market. We shall see.
