Over the past 24 hours, American blogs - and others - have gone crazy over A leak revealed within a forum, where one user reportedly found evidence of as many as two new levels within the Hilton Honors program: Diamond Reserve and Honors Society.
In this article:
Speculations of this kind have been chasing each other for years: on the one hand, the increase in elite cardholders thanks to credit cards, resulting in a dilution of status benefits-especially in the U.S. and China-and on the other hand, the need to counter more of Bonvoy's Ambassador and Hyatt's Globalist.

This time, however, there would be more clues (and also web pages).
What has transpired

The two new tiers allegedly emerged from an analysis of code on the Hilton site. Nothing strange: there are people who spend their days checking every line of code for new features and backdoors. From this list the two new tiers would emerge.

A second curious user would intercept a page on the site, not yet public, in which there would be an explanation of the new level with some of the related benefits and requirements. Basically, one would have to spend $18,000 over 12 months and stay 80 nights (or make 40 stays), which is 10 stays or 20 nights more than the current Diamond, in addition to the minimum spending to be achieved.
New (lower) requirements for status
Always among the many leaks that are coming out - not even if we were on the eve of the new iPhone - A drastic reduction in the requirements for obtaining Hilton Honors statuses would emerge. News that, if confirmed, could only make happy all those who stay in these facilities but do not have access to credit cards as accelerators.

The reduction would be 30%: it would mean being able to become Diamondcon 21 stays or 42 nights, instead of the current 30 stays or 60 nights.
Hilton's (partial) confirmation
At LoyaltyLobby also came a statement from Hilton confirming the imminent arrival of news.
At Hilton, we recognize that our most loyal guests are real diamonds, so we continue to "polish" Hilton Honors behind the scenes, always adding new facets to make sure the program stays a step ahead of the rest.
As you may have already read, we are preparing something exciting - but you haven't heard it all yet.
We will soon unveil all the news--and when the time comes, we will be the ones to contact you.
In conclusion
While the new level makes a lot of sense, much less sense is made by reducing the milestones for obtaining status. Of course, one can be happy, but if so many people already have the status, it is equally true that by decreasing the requirements there will be even more people with that status.
In any case, let's wait a few days and we will get the full picture of the news in Hilton Honors.
