Wizz Air continues to push Italy with two new routes connecting the country's South and Center to Eastern Europe. Following the debut of the flight Naples-Craiova, the new link also started Pescara-Bucharest Otopeni, two openings that strengthen the Hungarian carrier's presence in the airports of Capodichino e of Abruzzo.
Napoli-Craiova: the debut in Campania

From October 28, Wizz Air flies between Naples e Craiova, a new destination in the Campania network. The connection is operated twice a week, the Tuesday and the Saturday, with Airbus A321neo, and leads to 16 the destinations served from Naples to 11 European countries. For the company, this is another step in its growth strategy in southern Italy: a Naples are in fact based two aircraft of the fleet, with operational performance among the highest in the country.

Pescara-Bucharest: three flights a week to Abruzzo
The second piece of news comes from Abruzzo, where Wizz Air e SAGA have inaugurated the route Pescara-Bucharest Otopeni. The connection, operated three times a week - Tuesday, Thursday e Saturday - with A321neo, creates a direct corridor between Abruzzo and Romania, useful for tourism, business and academic exchanges. This is an important return for the Pescara airport, which thus sees its connection to Eastern Europe strengthened: in fact, Bucharest is joined by routes to Tirana and, from December, for Iași.

In 2025, the company operates 245 routes to 32 countries, with 27 aircraft based at 5 Italian airports, a 9% market share e 17.1 million passengers booked at 23.4 million places offered. As we told in our article dedicated to the winter 2025/26, the carrier is continuing to expand with new seasonal routes and an increasingly dense network throughout Italy.
