After more than 6 months of work, Dec. 1, ITA Airways will officially open the hangar expansion Rome Fiumicino lounge.
In this article:
On the eve of the final transition to Miles&More the Italian company is getting ready if not to have a Senator Lounge at least to have more space and (probably) a HON Circle area.
150sqm more

At the end of the work, the hall will be a little bit bigger, but I personally still believe it is insufficient to comfortably accommodate all the passengers who set foot in the Hangar every day.
If in these first 24 months it has "held up" to ITA's trades. and the few partner carriers that used to give access to this room, from 2026 not only passengers of the Italian airline and LH Group will be able to access it, but also all others traveling on board Star Alliance airlines such as TAP Portugal, LOT Polish or Aegean.
HON Circle in the VIP Rooms
I am very curious if there will also be solutions for HONs. I guess the VIP lounge, today intended for Executives could easily be adapted to HONs also because Executives are set to expire on 12/31 like milk.

An a la carte restaurant will certainly be equipped for them, as is the case in all the group's lounges where there are no real first-class lounges.
In conclusion

By Christmas, ITA passengers will have more space, rather than nothing is better, but certain is that my guess is that we will see (sooner or later) an ITA Business lounge open its doors at this airport and the Hangar transformed into a Senator.
