Bangkok adds a new addition to its already endless supply of Marriott signature hotels: it officially opens Metropole Bangkok, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, the first example of the Tribute Portfolio brand in Thailand.
In this article:
A boutique property, very different from the city's classic behemoths, which focuses everything on storytelling, design and character. And where I look forward to staying the next time I pass through town.
Bangkok and its many Marriotts
Thailand's capital city is one of the world's havens for those who love Marriott Group hotels: from the Luxury Collection at JW Marriott, via W Bangkok, without forgetting the newest addition the Ritz Carlton and the numerous facilities Aloft, Le Méridien e Courtyard.

Virtually the entire Marriott catalog coexists in the city., each with its own personality and its own type of traveler. The arrival of Tribute Portfolio was missing and completes a mosaic that already attracts tens of thousands of Bonvoy members each year.

Metropole Bangkok opens its doors in the neighborhood Thonglor, one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan areas of the city.
Favorite location for expats, creatives, and travelers seeking gourmet restaurants, cocktail bars, and more sophisticated than average nightlife. With its proximity to the BTS skytrain (Thonglor station) and the MRT line, the new hotel is quickly connected to the entire Sukhumvit-Asoke area.
Also great location for business travelers to Rama 9 or the industrial areas of Chonburi, Rayong, and Ayutthaya.
Tribute Portfolio: the boutique collection of Marriott
Tribute Portfolio is one of the most interesting brands in the Marriott Bonvoy galaxy: a family of independent hotels, each with its own history and identity.
It is the opposite of "standardized" chains: Design, atmosphere and storytelling of the area count here. The arrival of the first Tribute Portfolio in Thailand is a natural move in a market that loves hotels with character and original concepts.
Inside Metropole Bangkok

The new Metropole is not the usual Bangkok hotel. The structure combines colonial elements with an aesthetic inspired by the Shanghai in the 1920s, the so-called "Paris of the Orient." Chinoiserie, Art Deco, oriental motifs and a palette of reds, golds and symbolic details - dragons, guardian lions, delicate flowers - tell a story: the imaginary one of Meiying e Martin, a couple that embodies the meeting of East and West.

The hotel offers 116 rooms, mostly Studios with kitchenettes, smart toilets and free Wi-Fi. There is no shortage of amenities: outdoor pool, sauna, 24/7 gym, parking and a shuttle service to major hospitals, because this is the health tourism district.

The result is a boutique hotel that focuses on charm, storytelling and a much more intimate aesthetic than the big skyscrapers of Sukhumvit. A perfect choice for those who want something different without sacrificing the solidity of the Marriott Bonvoy world.
