Sandblu Santorini: Hilton's first LXR Hotels & Resorts debuts in Greece in 2026

Hilton brings its luxury brand LXR Hotels & Resorts for the first time in Greece and chooses an iconic location: Santorini.

The new Sandblu Santorini will open in summer 2026 and promises a mix of contemporary design, Cycladic charm and one of the most spectacular natural settings in the Mediterranean.

A new "high profile" opening for LXR in Europe

The LXR portfolio is undergoing a major renewal phase: it has lost several properties but there have been recent openings such as SAX Paris, the brand is approaching 40 properties between operational and in development.

Entry into Greece was long overdue, and Santorini is probably the ideal showcase for a brand that plays on exclusivity and atmosphere.

The location: Kamari and the slopes of Ancient Thira

The resort will be built in Kamari, on the east coast of the island, at the foot of the archaeological area of Ancient Thira. Not the Santorini of the Oia sunsets, but a quieter, wilder and closer part of the island's roots. From here one overlooks the black sand beach of Kamari and the deep blue Aegean Sea, with a natural setting that lends itself perfectly to LXR's type of hospitality.

The concept: a reimagined Cycladic village

The Sandblu will consist of. 66 rooms, suites and villas, with stone exteriors, white walls and contemporary textures that recall the island's light and volcanic matter.

Almost a third of the units will have private pool, while all will offer terraces overlooking the sea or pool areas. The three villas will represent the top of the range, designed for those seeking total privacy.

Services: between wellness, cuisine and relaxation by the sea

The resort will focus heavily on the experience, not only aesthetic but also sensory. We find:

In addition to being a charming retreat, the Sandblu will also be convenient logistically: the location offers direct access to trails leading to Ancient Thira, is close to Santorini airport and allows for quick connections from the mainland and nearby islands.

Cash prices currently range from €317 in the low season (June/October) and go up to just over €500 for July and August.

Instead, the price in points is fixed at 95k hh per night, sure with the fifth night free you can make 10 nights in August using only 760k HH.

Conversely, the same 10 nights, with a prepaid, non-cancelable rate could cost at a minimum just under 5,500 euros, not a great conversion in high season, absolutely to be avoided at other times.
