When the crib meets the journey (and does it right)

For Christmas, easyJet has decided to get - literally - into the Neapolitan tradition with "O' Traveler", a figurine made together with the master crib maker. Marco Ferrigno, one of the most well-known and respected names in Neapolitan nativity art.
In this article:

San Gregorio Armeno is not just a street: it is a symbol. It is that place where sacred and profane have always coexisted, where next to the Nativity you find the personage of the year, the politician, the footballer, the pop icon. Inserting a modern traveler here is not a marketing ploy, but almost a due act.
And "O' Traveler" works precisely because of this: he is not a throwaway gimmick, but a telling character The desire to leave, to discover, to connect places and people. Exactly what - for better or worse - the airplane has made possible in recent decades.
Naples, more than any other city, is the place to be

There is also another reason why I like this initiative "a hell of a lot." Naples is a city that has always traveled.
Crossroads of cultures, natural port of the Mediterranean, point of departure (and return) for millions of people. Bringing here a symbol related to travel is not accidental, it is consistent.

Throughout the weekend, the store Joseph and Marco Ferrigno has dressed itself in easyJet orange, transforming into a space where tradition meets the contemporary world. Not only exhibition, but also direct involvement: those who pass by can participate in dedicated activities and try to take home one of the "O' Viaggiatore" figurines.
One of the few Christmas activations that doesn't jar
Let's face it: under Christmas you often see "themed" initiatives that seem to be taped together. Not here. Here there is respect for the place, for artisans, for tradition, but also the ability to tell a brand without shouting it out. EasyJet is present, you can see it, but it does not crush everything else.

Pity only one detail: I won't be passing through Naples these days. Because - and I say this without irony - if I had a stopover in NAP scheduled, a trip to San Gregorio Armeno to buy "O' Viaggiatore" I really would have done it. Even though the nativity scene was never my thing.
And perhaps that is the best compliment that can be paid to such an idea.
